This postcard features the image of Louis Juchereau de St. Denis, the French-Canadian soldier and explorer who established Fort St. Jean Baptiste, which became the city of Natchitoches, in 1714.  After a life of travel and adventure, he died in Natchitoches in 1744.  This bust is located on the north end of Front Street in downtown Natchitoches. The postcard measures 4.2 x 5.5 inches.
